About Trinity

More than 50 Years of Excellence in Montessori Education

Founded in 1967, Trinity Montessori School in Rochester, New York is the largest private Montessori school in Western and Central New York for children ages 21-months to 12-years.  The current school was built on eight acres of land in 2011 and designed specifically for Montessori education. Parents choose Trinity Montessori for its hands-on approach to learning. Here, the teachers guide children to discover and appreciate their own invaluable gifts and talents, instilling a deep sense of independence and a lifelong love for learning. Trinity Montessori students leave the school with the qualities of self-conviction, reverence, and peace, as they become all-embracing world citizens.

Our Mission

The mission of Trinity Montessori School, Inc.* is to educate the whole child in an enriched environment in accordance with the American Montessori Philosophy. Our goal is the development of each child’s full potential as a peaceful world citizen with a lifelong love of learning.

School Profile

Trinity Montessori strongly emphasizes independent learning. There are more than 265 children currently enrolled at Trinity, from its Toddler Program through 6th Grade. Primary (ages 3-6), Lower Elementary (1st-3rd grade) and Upper Elementary (4th-6th grade) are grouped in multi-age classes, each with its own three-year sequenced curriculum. The Montessori philosophy is that the young child is eager to learn and need only be exposed to an enriched environment which stimulates and encourages this desire. The result is that the child will acquire a joy for learning, self-motivation and an inner discipline that will never be lost.

“We cannot know the consequences of suppressing a child’s spontaneity when she is just beginning to be active. We may even suffocate life itself. That humanity which is revealed in all its intellectual splendor during the sweet and tender age of childhood should be respected with a kind of veneration. It is like the sun which appears at dawn or a flower just beginning to bloom. Education cannot be effective unless it helps a child to open up herself to life.”  Dr. Maria Montessori
